All good things must come to an end, and with a heavy heart fans goodbye to The CW's popular superhero show 'Arrow'. The show, which revolved around Green Arrow aka Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell), came to an end after eight seasons.
Oliver Queen died after saving the world in 'Crisis On Infinite Earths', and superheroes like The Flash and Supergirl paid their respects to the fallen hero. It was the ending fans had wanted, as Oliver was reunited with Felicity in the afterlife.
Apart from the actors who were responsible for making the show what it is, let's not forget the crew who contributed to the show's popularity. Showrunner Beth Schwartz penned a couple of emotional tweets acknowledging the support staff of the 'Arrow' crew, and how she was also one of them back in Season 1.
"On the last day of #Arrow and as we are gearing up for another staffing season I’d like to acknowledge all the struggling support staff who feel like everyone else is getting staffed but them. Season 1 of Arrow I was the Writers’ Assistant and Was positive that I’d never get staffed because, well I met on Arrow to staff and was rejected. (I forgive you @mguggenheim) I was devastated that I would have to be an assistant AGAIN and was ready to give up."
With an encouraging note to those trying hard to make their mark, she wrote, "But that season I wrote 5 episodes and was able to prove myself as invaluable to the show. Something I encourage all struggling assistants to do. Work hard, prove yourself over and over again and try your hardest not to give up. I promise it will happen."
The show must go on, with new players. The legacy of Oliver Queen is expected to carry on in the spinoff series, 'Green Arrow & the Canaries,' although the series order has not yet been confirmed by The CW. We'll miss you, Green Arrow!
