After eight glorious seasons, 'Arrow' is finally coming to an end and Season 8 Episode 7 'Purgatory' will essentially be the last regular episode of the series. It's been an amazing run, with the last season hitting the mark more perfectly than ever before, but as sorry as we are to see him go, it's time for Oliver Queen / Green Arrow (Stephen Amell) to take his final bow.

A promo for Episode 7 released by The CW on November 27 teases that this will indeed be the end, in a manner of speaking. While the show still has three episodes left after this one, one of those episodes will be the tie-in episode to 'Crisis on Infinite Earths', another will be the pilot for the upcoming spin-off show 'Green Arrow and the Canaries', and the final episode is expected to be an epilogue for the series as a whole.

'Arrow' is taking things back to the very beginning with the entirety of Team Arrow assembled on Lian Yu, the island where it all began. It looks like the Monitor (LaMonica Garrett) may have transported the team to the past because there's not one but two dead characters coming back for this episode: Byron Mann's Lao Fei and Sebastian Dunn's Eddie Fyers.

Another character who seems to be returning is Deathstroke, which seems quite surprising because it was announced ahead of the season's premiere that Manu Bennet, who played Deathstroke / Slade Wilson in the early years of the show, would not be returning to the role. For all we know, this might actually be his son Grant Wilson (Jamie Andrew Cutler) who has already been a part of this season or it could be the 2040 Deathstroke John "JJ" Diggle Jr (Charlie Barnett) or it could be someone else entirely.

After realizing that he cannot escape his fate in Episode 6, Oliver is now struggling with the full reality of his impending death during the upcoming 'Crisis'. His only hope now is that his death might create a better world for his children to live in.

Thankfully, it looks like Lao Fei might be able to provide some advice on death and duty based on hints in the episode's synopsis. Here's the full official synopsis for 'Purgatory': "BYRON MANN GUEST STARS — Oliver’s (Stephen Amell) mission takes him to Lian Yu where he tries to ignore the repercussions of the looming Crisis until he receives help from an old friend. Meanwhile, a united Team Arrow faces a recognizable villain."

'Arrow' Season 8 Episode 7 'Purgatory' will air on The CW on December 3.
