'Arrow' Season 8 Episode 3 could serve as a backdoor pilot for a spin-off series on Thea's League of Heroes

In all honesty, Thea is one of the best characters to ever appear in the Arrowverse and though this episode is good enough to be a fitting goodbye to her, it would be amazing if her story continued

With 'Arrow' coming to an end after the ongoing season eight, The CW is busy planning the future of the Arrowverse.

The legacy of Oliver Queen / Green Arrow (Stephen Amell) and his team is expected to be carried forward in a new spin-off series titled 'Green Arrow and the Canaries' starring Katherine McNamara, Katie Cassidy and Juliana Harkavy as Mia Smoak, Laurel Lance and Dinah Drake respectively. 

Mia's spin-off will reportedly be getting a backdoor pilot in 'Arrow' season eight but The CW has created an opportunity for another spin-off in Season 8 episode 3 'Leap of Faith'.

The episode brings back Willa Holland's fan-favorite character Thea Queen / Speedy, Oliver's younger sister and a formidable hero in her own right.

While helping her brother find some much-needed answers about the true purpose of the Monitor / Mar Novu (LaMonica Garrett), Thea faces off against Talia al Ghul (Lexa Doig) in a final battle to decide who inherits the leadership of the League of Assassins.

Defeating the assassin, Thea embraces her role as the Daughter of the Demon but refuses to conform to the path of villainy that that legacy demands of her. "I don't really believe in the whole fate, destiny thing," Thea tells Talia. "We can all make our own choices."

Despite Talia's self-doubt, Thea assures the older warrior that her mistakes can be forgiven. Together, the two women set out to rebuild the League as a place for heroes, not killers.

"I don't think the world needs another League of Assassins," Thea explains. "It could use a League of Heroes." Now Thea has a new mission ahead of her, consolidating her position as the leader of a new League.

She will certainly face opposition from both splinter factions of the League and old enemies from darker times, which could all lead to some very exciting stories. 

In all honesty, Thea is one of the best characters to ever appear in the Arrowverse and though this episode is good enough to be a fitting goodbye to her, it would be amazing if her story continued.

If The CW is considering a series following Thea's adventures with her new League of Heroes (maybe with a better name), it would certainly be an interesting watch and we hope to hear some news about it before the end of season eight. 

'Arrow' Season 8 Episode 4 'Present Tense' will air on The CW on November 5.
