'Let’s not complain, let’s do something': Arnold Schwarzenegger fixes huge pothole in neighborhood
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: A video shared on social media by Arnold Schwarzenegger showed him filling a huge pothole in his neighborhood. The pothole had been damaging vehicles the area, and Schwarzenegger took matters into his own hands to fix it.
On Tuesday, April 11, the 'Terminator' actor posted a video on his social media, which showed him repairing a large pothole that had been causing problems in his neighborhood in Los Angeles for several weeks. The former governor of California worked on the project along with two other individuals using pre-packaged concrete to fix the road in the Brentwood area while upbeat music played in the background.

'Let’s not complain, let’s do something'
"Today, after the whole neighborhood has been upset about this giant pothole that’s been screwing up cars and bicycles for weeks, I went out with my team and fixed it. I always say, let’s not complain, let’s do something about it. Here you go," Schwarzenegger wrote in the caption. He dressed in work boots, a leather jacket, and sunglasses, while taking a shovel and spreading blacktop over the street to fill the pothole. He then used a cold patch and sprinkled dirt on the surface to finish the job. While working on the road, a woman drove past Schwarzenegger and expressed her gratitude for his hands-on approach. "You’re welcome. You have to do it yourself. This is crazy. For three weeks I’ve been waiting for this hole to be closed," Schwarzenegger said.
According to a spokesperson for Schwarzenegger, residents of Brentwood had been making several requests for road repairs since winter storms caused potholes and cracks in the local roads. Despite these requests, the repairs were not made, prompting Schwarzenegger to take matters into his own hands and fix the problem himself. Schwarzenegger revealed that he acquired significant skills from his bricklaying business, which he started with fellow bodybuilder Franco Columbu in 1968, a few years prior to his breakthrough role in "Pumping Iron" that catapulted him to global fame. These skills were put to use during his DIY pothole repair project.
Last week, Mayor Karen Brass announced a plan to address the significant number of damaged streets across Los Angeles that were caused by historic rainfall, as per NY Post. According to officials, Los Angeles has received 19,692 service requests for road repairs since December 30th. As of April 6th, repair crews had filled at least 17,549 potholes in response to these requests.
