Ariana Grande's song 'God is a woman' was given to Camila Cabello first, but she chose to pass it on

Camila Cabello herself confessed it to Andy Cohen on his SiriusXM radio show, 'Radio Andy', that the song was originally her song, but she ended up passing it on.

If Ariana Grande's 'God is a Woman' is among one of your favorite songs on your playlist, here's a fun fact you didn't know. The song was originally meant to be sung by Camila Cabello. Can't believe it? Well, it's true and the Cuban-American songwriter herself confessed it to Andy Cohen on his SiriusXM radio show, 'Radio Andy', that the song was originally her song, but she ended up passing it on.

"I think they had the chorus for the song and then I wrote verses to it, but it just didn't end up sounding right for me. So she and everybody wrote her version and it sounded amazing," she said on the show. Wouldn't it be quite a different version if she would have actually sung it?

When asked if she would like to collaborate with Ariana if ever given a chance in the future, Camila was happy to give her thumbs up! "I would love that! I love her! She's my friend," Camila said. "She's really sweet. We'll just kind of check on each other and be like, 'how are you doing?' Or she'll be posting something about how she's doing great mentally and emotionally through Instagram and I'll be like, 'I'm so happy for you.'"

While it may come as a shock to music listeners, it's actually quite common for songs to be passed between different artists if one opts to pass it on. Reportedly, the song's demo originally leaked in 2018 was just a snippet of Camila singing the verse with different lyrics.

With more than 250 million views, the track seems to have caught up with music listeners after it debuted at number eleven and later reached a peak of number eight on the US Billboard Hot 100.

The song was also nominated for Best Pop Solo Performance at the 61st Annual Grammy Awards.
