Democratic congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez did a lengthy photoshoot and interview for Vanity Fair this month, wearing high-priced clothes and slammed President Donald Trump for not paying his taxes.

The progressive lawmaker from New York, whose policies often swing far to the left of more centrist Democrats, was gifted at least one of the looks - a $2,850 suit from Loewe as reported by the Daily Mail. The total estimated retail cost of her outfits was revealed to be more than $14,000.

AOC thrashed Trump in the magazine interview, saying, “These are the same people saying that we can’t have tuition-free public colleges because there’s no money, when these motherf*****s are only paying $750 a year in taxes," she said in the interview. She also defended herself as a powerful woman against right-wing attacks that have painted her as a socialist and a villain.

“It’s very dehumanizing in both ways, strangely, both the negative and the positive,” the congresswoman said. “It’s not an accident that, every cycle, the boogeyman of the Democrats is a woman,” Ocasio-Cortez said. “A couple of cycles ago, it was Pelosi. Then it was Hillary, and now it’s me.”

Pictures of her in several outfits for the magazine included an expensive polka dot Wales Bonner dress and a black suit with multicolored tassels by Loewe. She also donned a pair of black Christian Louboutin heels, iconic for their red bottoms.

As soon as her statements and the worth of the outfit she donned came to light, people started slamming her hypocrisy. "Hypocrite guess you are getting ready to build your mansion and line your pockets like the rest of the career politicians AOC appears in Vanity Fair in outfits worth $14,000 to curse Trump out," said a user while another added, "Your all about the working man and woman but yet you wore a 14K outfit for your vanity fair photo shoot. You are such a hypocrite."

Another one called her out and wrote, "@AOC What a hypocrite!!! You should be embarrassed about being a sellout!!! AOC appears in Vanity Fair in outfits worth $14,000 to curse Trump out." Slamming her for her comments and the way she looked in the cover picture, another one said, "@AOC I saw your picture of Vanity fair magazine wearing very expensive clothes, you are such a hypocrite, and you attack President Trump for his taxes? Shame on you. By the way, you are not a pretty woman..." Pointing out her statement, another one wrote, "AOC’s life is definitely feeling different. “Socialist AOC appears in Vanity Fair in $14,000 of designer suits and Louboutins to call Trump a motherf****r for not paying tax - as she compares herself to Hillary and Pelosi”. Why do you listen to her? She is like all rest."
