PHOENIX, ARIZONA: The Phoenix Police Department has launched a comprehensive search across the city for Antonio Alvarez, a man with dementia who has been reported missing.

The critical nature of Alvarez's medical condition, which could result in confusion or disorientation, has apparently escalated the urgency of the situation.

Authorities are appealing to residents to remain vigilant and promptly report any potential sightings of Alvarez.

Who is Antonio Alvarez?

Phoenix Police received a missing person report for Antonio Alvarez around 7.30 pm on November 21, as informed by his family.

According to 12News, Alvarez, who has been diagnosed with dementia, left his home without his mobile phone and wallet, leaving him without any form of identification and making it impossible for his family to contact him.

Antonio is a 60-year-old man, standing 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighing approximately 180 pounds.

He has gray hair and dark brown eyes. When last seen, he was dressed in an olive green shirt, jean shorts, and white socks, but was not wearing any shoes.

Antonio Alvarez's family urges people to help

Christina Alvarez, who identifies Antonio as her father on Facebook, has been frantically looking for the 60-year-old. She even pleaded in a comment section, "Please help us find our dad! A simple share could help."

In another post, the worried family wrote, "Never in a million years would I have imagined doing this! Please help me find my dad! A simple share will help. Thank you all. If anyone is in the West Valley please keep your eyes peeled!" 



 

Supporters and friends on social media have been offering prayers for Antonio’s safe return. A user named Maribel Alvarez, who also mentioned Altonio as his father, responded to Christina’s post, stating that Antonio, aged 60, was last seen at '99th Ave and Campbell'.

Maribel wrote in a post, "Never would of imagined having to go around the city posting signs like this! My dad has been missing since 11/22/2023 please help us find our dad! Last seen in Villa de Paz neighborhood 99th Ave and Campbell in West Phx."
