The Los Angeles Chargers are languishing at the bottom of the AFC West with nine losses, the latest one coming at the hands of the New England Patriots. The Chargers went down 0-45 in what could perhaps be one of their most abysmal defeats. Head coach, Anthony Lynn's position in the team is in peril and the possibility of being sacked gets stronger by the day. The loss saw Chargers fans take to Twitter to express their disappointment and voice out their opinion. They wanted Lynn out.

"The Patriots played well, but this was a horrible loss for the Chargers. I’d be shocked if Anthony Lynn still has a job next week," read one of the tweets. This was seconded by another who said: "@stephenasmith as much as you shout-out Anthony Lynn, I think today he wrote his own ticket outta Los Angeles by getting blown out by 45 points at home to New England. I hope he gets another head coaching job."

While credits did flow in for the Patriots for putting up a stellar display, it was the Chargers at the receiving end of criticism. "This was the best game the Patriots have played since early 2019, but it also speaks to how bad Anthony Lynn is," wrote a fan soon after the loss.

And the calls for his removal— both subtle and direct continued. "It’s been how long since the game ended and Anthony Lynn is still the head coach of @Chargers #SMH"

Lynn was looked at as one of the three worst coaches who needed to be axed. "Head Coaches I expect to he fired. Zac Taylor 4-23-1 Adam Gase Hasn't had a winning season since 2016 Dolphins and is 7-20 with the Jets. Doug Marrone Is 12-31 since 2018. Anthony Lynn," read a tweet.

As far as the mike drop statement goes: "Anthony Lynn is one the worst head coaches in NFL history. His Special Teams coach should be fired directly into the sun."

Lynn termed the loss as "the worst football game" he has been involved in his career. He called the play "unacceptable" and the outing all but asked questions if he would be fired immediately. The coach had quite the answer as he said, "I expect to be the coach of this team tomorrow,” via Daniel Popper of TheAthletic.com.

For some, it was a major mismatch. "Did you really think an Anthony Lynn coached team had a chance against a Bill Belichick coached team? Lynn has been embarrassing himself long before this game," one of the fans opined.

At some stage, there will be some stern calls made and only time will tell if this is the end of the road for Lynn. The team will play the Falcons next on December 14.
