WOODSIDE, CALIFORNIA: A strange look on Antony Blinken's face during the meeting between Joe Biden and Xi Jinping caught the attention of netizens.

The 61-year-old Secretary of State was present along with other members of the Biden administration when the US president and the Chinese president met on Wednesday, November 15, to discuss US-China relations, according to Newsweek.

Videos of Blinken staring blankly at the president while sitting next to him at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit, which took place at the Filoli Historic House & Garden in Woodside, California, quickly went viral on X (formerly Twitter) after the event commenced. 

Joe Biden and Xi Jinping seek to improve US-China bilateral cooperation

The meeting between Joe Biden and Xi Jinping was the first face-to-face gathering of the two world leaders since they came across each other in November 2022 in Bali, Indonesia. Their interaction is being seen by many as a possible step towards improving US-China relations.

During the section of the meeting held in public, both heads of state emphasized improving bilateral cooperation. The planet was "big enough" for both countries to flourish, said Jinping

President Biden began the meeting by telling Xi that it was "good to see" him again. He also recalled spending "many hours" in official meetings with the Chinese president when he served as vice president during the Obama administration.

Soon after the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit commenced, the United States Secretary of State Anthony Blinken's expression was deemed odd by some of the netizens. 

One wrote, "What is Antony Blinken so nervous about?" sharing a video of him. 

Another quipped. "Blinken looking at Biden with the same look of concern as when you are driving at night in the middle of nowhere and all your engine lights come on. 'just a little bit longer, a little bit further, you can make it, please don't die!' 😂."

"What’s with Blinken 🤣🤣🤣 is he ok … he looks worried hahaha," joked a person, while someone else noted, "Why does Blinken look like he's about to cry ?"

One more expressed, "Blinken looks shook."
