Angry viewers call second GOP Debate 'amateur s**tshow' after candidates start talking over each other

Viewers were completely turned off after Ron DeSantis, Tim Scott and Vivek Ramaswamy started talking over each other ignoring the debate's decorum

SIMI VALLEY, CALIFORNIA: The second GOP Debate on Fox Business had an underwhelming response from the viewers who were disappointed especially after the high-octane antics of the first debate. 

But there came a time during the second debate when a few of the candidates started talking over each other, making up for a few chaotic seconds.

It happened right after the former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie completed his statement. Ron DeSantis was given the floor to share his view when Senator Tim Scott and Vivek Ramaswamy started answering, allowing three voices to echo at the same time in the studio.

None of the statements were heard and the viewers couldn’t make anything of it until moderator Dana Perino intervened and requested the GOP leaders to maintain the decorum.

GOP candidates talking over each other leads to chaos amid second debate

The second GOP Debate did not offer many fiery moments for the media outlets to capitalize upon. However, the presidential hopefuls talking over each other became a turning point for many to address.

Chris Christie had just finished his statement and the moderators moved to Ron DeSantis for the next question. But it seems like Ramaswamy and Scott still had unfinished business.

As soon as DeSantis began to speak, Ramaswamy and Scott jumped in to validate a point they had failed to make in their respective turns.

This led to a completely chaotic moment where the mics in the studio couldn’t pick up anything that the candidates were speaking, leading the moderators to intervene with, “Can we please respect the time?”

Despite the interjection of the moderator, Scott continued to speak until he made his point.

This incident was taken in complete distaste by the netizens who expressed their disgust without any filter.  

Internet unhappy with GOP candidates for talking over each other

The viewers took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to slam the GOP leaders with all their might.

One viewer wrote, "What a waste of time. You can’t have group debates,” while a second said, “Amateur s**tshow.”

Another wrote, “Disgusting. Fox fix it. Cut off sound,” while one said, “Horrible debate. Moderators have no control. Scary and Ramaswamy talk over each other and no one answers the questions they are asked.”

Another viewer said, “Moderators refuse to stop the arguing. And if a candidate refuses to answer a question directly before going off topic their mic should be turned off.” 

A social media user also stated, “Sounds like the Freedom Caucus,” while another commented, “Never seen a debate so embarrassing.”
