An Angelina Jolie "lookalike" on Instagram has reportedly been humiliated on Iranian TV as a "mad zombie" after she was arrested for "blasphemy."

Sahar Tabar, 22, of Tehran, claimed she went under the knife at least 50 times so she could look like the Hollywood superstar, The Sun reports.

However, she admitted after gaining thousands of followers on social media that her looks were the result of photoshop and that she looked nothing like her modified images online.

According to the Tasnim news agency, Tabar was arrested on October 5 on suspicion of blasphemy, instigating violence, illegally acquiring property, insulting Iran's dress code, and encouraging her young followers to commit corruption.

The outlet claimed cops arrested her after members of the public complained about her antics. What's more? Authorities humiliated her over the harmless altered images this week by parading her for the cameras.

On national television, Sahar was introduced as a "zombie" who was a testament to the fact that "the madness to become famous on social media has ruined a real life."

"My childhood dream was to become famous", the 22-year-old told Iranian Channel Two, before being forced to say she wished she listened to her mother and stopped altering her looks online.

"My mother was telling me to stop, but I didn't listen", she said, with no choice but to comply with the demands. "Sometimes the words of a stranger or a friend can be more important than those of a parent."

While her face was blurred throughout the interview, she assured viewers she did not look anything "like my photoshopped pictures." According to the report, the interview also highlighted how she was the only child of a divorced couple.

"This is photoshop and make-up", Sahar reportedly told Russian outlet Sputnik after grabbing headlines for her corpse bride appearance in 2017. "Every time I publish a photo, I paint my face in an increasingly funny way. It is a way of expressing yourself, a kind of art. My fans know that this is not my real face."

According to the End Blasphemy Laws Campaign, those charged with blasphemy in Iran can expect a prison sentence of up to five years, if not the death penalty.
