Oscar and Grammy-winning film composer and symphony orchestra conductor André Previn died on Thursday at his home in Manhattan, New York, his manager confirmed to the New York Times. The accomplished jazz pianist, who won four Oscars and 10 Grammy Awards, was 89 years old at the time of his death.
His Oscar wins included 'Gigi' in 1958 and 'Porgy and Bess' in 1959, while he was still in his 20s. In 2010, he was recognized with a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award and has been lauded for his ability to combine jazz, pop, and classical music.
