Did Amy Barrett sexually harass anyone? Mazie Hirono labeled 'sick beyond belief' after perjury trap question

Amy Coney Barrett has been asked in her Supreme Court nomination hearing whether she has ever sexually assaulted anyone. The questions were asked by a Democratic Senator on Tuesday, October 13.

Hawaiian Senator Mazie Hirono, questioned Barret, pertaining to an issue that came up quite a bit during Justice Brett Kavanaugh’s confirmation hearing but had yet to come up during Judge Amy Coney Barrett’s hearing: whether the Supreme Court nominee had ever sexually assaulted someone. She also said that she has asked this question to all Supreme Court nominees.

“Since you became a legal adult, have you ever made unwanted requests for sexual favors, or committed any physical or verbal harassment or assault of a sexual nature?” Hirono asked. “No, Senator Hirono,” Barrett replied. “Have you ever faced discipline or entered into a settlement related to this kind of conduct?” Hirono then asked. “No, Senator,” Barrett said. From there, Hirono began asking questions related to Barrett’s judicial philosophy. The series of questions from Hirono drew parallels with the hearing for the most recently appointed Supreme Court judge, Brett Kavanaugh. Kavanaugh was nominated in July 2018, and his hearing was dominated by questions over sexual assault allegations made by Christine Blasey Ford.

As soon as these questions came in light, people started reacting to it, as one Internet user wrote, "It's insane—Democrat Senators are willing to ask Amy Coney Barrett of all people if she's ever sexually assaulted anyone but they ignore mountains of credible evidence of sexual assault by their nominee, Joe Biden." One questioned Hirono, "Hey @maziehirono have you ever touched children in sexually inappropriate ways? Have you ever entered into a settlement of any kind related to this behavior?

While another one wrote with a laughing emoji, "Maizie Hirono actually asked #AmyConeyBarrett if she had ever sexually assaulted anyone! These people are both stupid and sick beyond belief." Another slammed Hirono and said, "Democratic senator asks Amy Coney Barrett if she has ever sexually assaulted someone. This is a true idiot moron!!! What a retard that needs medication!!! Totally misleading the public about Barret!!!!"

One questioned, "Shall we expect someone coming forward with claims that #AmyConeyBarrett had sexually assaulted him/her? Will he/she be told to shut up and stop bragging just to make so many people envyous?" Sharing the video where Hirono is questioning Barret, one Netizen wrote, "While Amy Coney Barrett was asked by Democrats if she's ever raped or sexually assaulted someone, exactly zero SenateDemocrats have ever asked that same question of Joe Biden."

While one said, that Barrett is being harassed by these questions and wrote, "Seems like Hirono is harassing... Democratic senator asks Amy Coney Barrett if she has ever sexually assaulted someone." Another one wrote, "@maziehirono literally asked #AmyConeyBarrett, the Catholic mother of 7, if she has ever sexually harassed or assaulted someone. @SenateDems have reached their apex of jackassery."
