Country music group Lady A has postponed the remainder of its Request Line Tour to support singer Charles Kelley, who is 'on a journey to sobriety,' according to a social media release on August 4, 2022.
Hillary Scott, Charles Kelley, and Dave Haywood on background vocals, guitar, piano, and mandolin make up the American country music group. The trio first rose to prominence as 'Lady Antebellum.' However, amid continued Black Lives Matter protests, the Grammy-winning band chose to eliminate 'Antebellum' from their name on June 11, 2020, due to the potentially racist connotations the term may have had.

The group updated their fans and followers on their Instagram page explaining the real reason behind canceling the 2022 tour reminder. The band, calling it "hard but important decision" to make, said, "We have decided to postpone our Request Line Tour until next year. We are a band, but more importantly we’re family. We’re proud to say that Charles has embarked on a journey to sobriety. So, right now in order to be the healthiest, strongest, and most creative band we can be, Lady A will take the time with the support of our families and team of professionals to walk through this together." They told their fans that they are determined to do what will best set them up for many years together. The band continued, "We’re grateful for your patience. This update is coming in real-time, but in the coming days, your point of purchase will be in touch with new ticket information. We’re looking forward to making 2023 our best year yet!"
Fans who are left in shock shared love and support for singer Charles Kelley and the group. They adored it as the group supported each other.
