Kellyanne Conway's husband George chokes up, says how Trump's 'go back' comment reeked of racism: 'He is evil'

George Conway noted how Trump hinted at the Squad to 'go back' to the 'crime-infested places from which they came'

Anti-Trump lawyer George Conway, the husband of White House counselor Kellyanne Conway, became emotional in an upcoming documentary as he recalled the moment he was convinced President Donald Trump is a 'racist'. “My mother came from the Philippines. She came to the United States in the late 1950s. So I’m half Filipino, and the other half is some mixture of Irish, Scottish — you know, I’m a classic American mutt,” Conway explained in a clip from the documentary titled '#Unfit: The Psychology of Donald Trump'.

“I think of myself as an American. I just assume people aren’t racist. And I tend to forget that, well, some people are. And that’s sort of the lesson with Trump is. I just gave him the benefit of doubt," he continued.

“But what he said about those members of Congress,” Conway noted, referring to the president hinting at 'The Squad' to “go back” to the “crime-infested places from which they came.” “It brought back that memory of the one time I really remember, wow, there really are people like that here. I was with my mother when I was a teenager in a parking lot in Massachusetts and somebody said to her, ‘go back to your country.’ It came home to me then. This man is a racist. He is evil,” Conway added.

“#Unfit”, which is set for a limited theatrical release on August 28, also includes interviews with mental health professionals who provide their insights into Trump's behavior.

Earlier in the day, we reported how Kellyanne announced she will be leaving her post at the end of the month and her husband also tweeted that he was stepping down from The Lincoln Project. Both stated the need to focus on family as a reason. George tweeted, "So I’m withdrawing from @ProjectLincoln to devote more time to family matters. And I’ll be taking a Twitter hiatus. Needless to say, I continue to support the Lincoln Project and its mission. Passionately."

Earlier in May, the POTUS had attacked the anti-Trump super PAC in a series of tweets after they released an ad against him and his response to the coronavirus pandemic, CNN reported. “A group of RINO Republicans who failed badly 12 years ago, then again 8 years ago, and then got BADLY beaten by me, a political first-timer, 4 years ago, have copied (no imagination) the concept of an ad from Ronald Reagan, 'Morning in America'....” he began.

He attacked Conway in another tweet that read, “...because they don’t know how to win, and their so-called Lincoln Project is a disgrace to Honest Abe. I don’t know what Kellyanne did to her deranged loser of a husband, Moonface, but it must have been really bad."

The president continued, "John Weaver lost big for Kasich (to me). Crazed Rick Wilson lost for Evan 'McMuffin' McMullin (to me). Steve Schmidt & Reed Galvin lost for John McCain, Romney’s campaign manager (?) lost big to 'O', & Jennifer Horn got thrown out of the New Hampshire Republican Party."

"They’re all LOSERS, but Abe Lincoln, Republican, is all smiles!” he added.
