REXBURG, IDAHO: The Idaho authorities are on the lookout for two children who haven't been seen since September and were not reported missing by their mother or their stepfather.

The mother married the stepfather just weeks after his first wife was discovered dead under mysterious circumstances. The children, Joshua Vallow, 7, and Tylee Ryan, 17, are believed to be in imminent danger, as per the Rexburg police who made the announcement via a press release on Saturday.

The authorities have requested the public for any information on the whereabouts of the children's mother, Lori Vallow, and her new husband, Chad Daybell. The cops believe that the disappearance of the children could directly be linked to the death of Daybell's first wife Tammy who was found dead in October in her home in Springville, Fremont County.

Vallow and Daybell were married only a few weeks after Tammy's death. The investigators had initially determined that she had died of natural causes but are now looking into her death. Her body was recently exhumed so an autopsy could be conducted.

The police started to search for the children in early November after a relative had reported that they had not seen Joshua,  a special needs child, since September. According to the investigators, Vallow and Daybell had lied about the children's whereabouts and had refused to cooperate with the investigation.

As reported by EastIdahoNews, Rexburg Police Chief Shane Truman shared, "They've told us several stories about where the children are, but when we investigate, the children don't exist where they say they should. We don't know where they are at, but we think they are in pretty serious danger."

The Rexburg police had issued search warrants at locations in Rexburg in an attempt to find Joshua. The officers had found that Vallow and Daybell had abruptly left their home in Rexburg and their whereabouts are currently not known.

They have asked for anyone with information about the case to contact the Rexburg Police Department at 208-359-3000 or the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children at 800-THE-LOST. Joshua has brown eyes and brown hair and is around 4' tall and weighs 50lbs.  Tylee, on the other hand, has blonde hair and blue eyes. She is 5' tall and weighs 160lbs.
