‘Negative role models’

Fans were not that polite to the rappers and went on social media to express what they really thought of their performance. One user said, “I didn’t know Grammys had strippers performing this year. I guess, the producers forgot this was a family show.” Another user said, “Megan Thee Stallion --- and Cardi B so-called performance at the Grammy was embarrassing to blacks. It was lewd behavior. Her so-called songs are FILTHY. She is a negative role model for black people.”

“They want to cancel Dr Seuss books and Pepe Lepew but Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion can prance around stripper poles talking about WAP. Yeah that makes sense,” another user wrote. Meanwhile, one user noted, “Dr. Seuss books are too offensive, but Cari B rapping about her p**** while swinging on a stripper pole at the Grammys on prime time television is perfectly fine.” One user shared, “Liberal logic – Dr. Seuss book are way too offensive, but rappers rapping about “WAP” while swinging on a stripper pole at the Grammys on prime time TV is acceptable.”

"I want to condemn the Grammys' insulting show! Meghan Thee Stallion and Cardi B performed a stripper act! What an insult in Women’s History Month! There is no excuse for objectifying women! Not music,” another user added. Meanwhile, another one said, "I can't believe my 9 yr old is watching hoes strippers on prime time on a Sunday - this is Grammy's yo the weirdest music show on earth."

The 2021 Grammy Awards show, officially known as the 63rd Grammy Awards, took place Sunday, March 14, at 8 pm ET/5 pm PT.
