'AGT' Season 17: Fans choose Kristen's rendition of 'I See Red' over original song, call her 'phenomenal'

The new episode of 'America's Got Talent' Season 17 that was aired on Tuesday, June 21, wasted no time in introducing fans to Kristen Cruz, a powerful vocalist who took the stage. Fans on social media went absolutely crazy after seeing her perform one of the 2020s most iconic songs.

'America's Got Talent' continues to bring incredible vocalists to the stage. Kristen Cruz is one of the competitors auditioning for the 'America's Got Talent' show airing on June 21. Kristen is only 19 years old, yet she has a beautiful voice that she is eager to showcase. The difference between her performance and the person she was going into it is rather amusing.

Kristen presented herself on stage as someone who became famous online for mixing drinks and singing, sometimes at the same time. It was a dumb little quarantine gimmick, but her audition proved she was a star. She has a strong voice, and she absolutely crushed her performance! She clearly looked like she needed to build confidence, but there is definitely something there. Even though she had a fan base before taking the stage, this is the type of competitor 'AGT' should be looking for: Someone who is modest, sympathetic, and capable of going above and beyond. She came off as genuine from start to end!

Not just the judges, but everyone in the audience, was taken aback when she began singing 'I Feel Red' by Everybody Loves an Outlaw. Simon calls her performance "unbelievable". When she opened her mouth to sing, Howie felt she set the stage on fire. Heidi is so taken with her voice that she confesses that she wants it, and so does Sofia! Heidi adds that she adored everything about her and describes her as a "star in the making" with a great gift. Sofia compliments Kristen on her impressive performance and calls her singing "confident" and "sexy." Simon was astonished by her performance because many singers arrive confident but fail to deliver. Kristen and her "seasoned" voice receive four yeses and proceed in the competition.

Soon after the performance, fans took to social media to praise Kristen for her performance. Some even went on to compare her rendition to the original one. A fan wrote: "I enjoy Kristen Cruz’s rendition of this song more than the original. Would love for her to release a single asap so I can download it!"

Another fan tweeted in hope for an album soon from the performer: "Kristen Cruz imma need you to drop that album real quik and go on Tour, i need more wow!!! #AGT".

One fan had their jaw on the floor after their performance, calling Kristen a phenomenal singer they wrote: "Kristen Cruz had my jaw on the floor. What a phenomenal singer".

As Kristen mentioned her putting off a job from Home Depot, a fan wrote in support: "Kristen a 9-5 is not for you, singing is. #AGT".
