'American Song Contest' Week 3 kicked off strong with Grant Knoche from Texas setting the tone for a stellar night. Taking it forward was Ni/Co, a couple from Alabama whose chemistry and ties to Alabama were lauded, but the performance received mixed ratings. This week's contestants include — Jewel (Alaska), Riker Lynch (Colorado), Nitro Nitra (Delaware), Ale Zabala (Florida), Brittany Pfantz (Louisiana), Brooke Alexx (New Jersey), Sabyu (Northern Mariana Islands), Jesse LeProtti (South Carolina), Judd Hoos (South Dakota), Tyler Braden (Tennessee), and Grant Knoche (Texas)

Fans were quite critical of the performance. "#AmericanSongContest Song 5 - Show 3 Alabama — Ni/Co — “The Difference” song was alright but lack the action a little bit of taking a nap My score - 5," one of the tweet read. "5. Alabama - Ni/Co: “The Difference” I was really excited about this song from the snippet, but it really isn’t delivering like I thought it would. They ended strong, but the beginning was lackluster. #AmericanSongContest," another seconded. "m not really vibing with Ni/Co.. sorry.. #AmericanSongContest," a fan wrote.

Some felt this could be it. "8- Ni/Co - “The difference” - Alabama A very sweet pop-ballad. Not really my thing but it’s so beautiful. This really is a commercial ballad, in the line of what the UK or Swedish industries produce nowadays. Quite cinematic as well. #AmericanSongContest," a comment read. "Vocals for Ni/Co started kinda rocky but found harmony and finished STRONG. #americansongcontest," a tweet read. It was all about the strong finish for some.

"Ni/Co, an interracial couple representing Alabama, said they're there to represent the Alabama of today — and their duet absolutely hits the soul #americansongcontest," a tweet read. "Aw loved Ni/Co's chemistry on stage and powerful voices together. Wished the audience was turned down a bit #AmericanSongContest," another tweet read.
