'American Song Contest' certainly has some heavy hitters and among them is Mississippi's very own Keyone Starr. The Grammy-nominated singer, composer, and producer refers to herself as the love child of Aretha Franklin and Lenny Kravitz, and her performance of her song 'Fire' certainly proved that she is just that and more.

Fans were in absolute awe of Starr's powerful voice. "Honestly never heard of Keyone Starr before, but DAMN! That energy, those vocals! Tina Turner would approve. I’m a fan!! #AmericanSongContest #ASC @KeyoneStarr" tweeted a fan. "Keyone Starr set #AmericanSongContest on fire with her fantastic performance full of spectacle & fiery vocals! She set the stage on fire!" added another. "AYO Keyone burned the house down! #AmericanSongContest" said a fan. "wow. just incredible. keyone is very underrated. she is beautiful and a wonderful singer. 8.75/10. #AmericanSongContest" praised another. "The FIRE coming the stage, Keyone Starr showed us what voices from the south are capable of. Looked absolutely beautiful in that red lewk! Can’t wait to see how this performance evolves through the #AmericanSongContest" said a fan.

Some fans disagreed and noted that her stage production took away the focus from her and her song. "It's a bit cliche with all the pyros and flaming guitar, but I'm eating it up. Staging looks clean and super and Keyone sang the hell out of that! #AmericanSongContest" tweeted a fan. "sorry Keyone, but your tambourine banging backup dancers stole the show. #AmericanSongContest" added another. "I have no idea how Mississippi sounded because I spent the whole time laughing at the guys in leather, mesh, studded collars and….tambourines. #AmericanSongContest" said a fan.
