'American Idol': Fans want to pull the plug on songs that are sung too often on the show

Fans don't want to listen to more renditions of songs like John Lennon's 'Imagine', Whitney Houston's 'I Have Nothing' and Aerosmith's 'I Don't Wanna Miss a Thing'

Since it's premiere in 2002, 'American Idol' has come a long way, and people waiting expectantly for the 17th season that is going to air in just little over a month. The show along with its great panel of judges has been a springboard for for great talent who have made it big in the music industry. 

When the reality competition series returns on March 3, we will see Ryan Seacrest take his position as the host of the show once again along with Luke Bryan, Lionel Richie, and Katy Perry taking their seats on the judging panel.



 

With the show returning, we will get to witness a whole bunch of new contestants auditioning to get a spot on the competition. Along with all that, comes a list of song selections. In the 16 seasosn so far we have witnessed a large number of songs being repeated by contestants on the show.
