'American Idol' Season 22 judge Katy Perry receives backlash as she invites Luke Bryan for 'moo off' to advance a contestant
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: 'American Idol' Season 22 judge Katy Perry entertained the viewers as well as the contestants with 'Moose Alpaca'. The ABC show judge performed some iconic hilarious steps which drew trolls from the critics. After Katy's 'Moose Alpaca' performance, she claimed, "There's one thing I haven't brought out, which is a really good thing that we do at camp."
Katy explained, "Whenever someone gets into a disagreement, which we possibly will have today... meaning a fight. it's called a 'moo off.'" Katy explained that during the competition, they needed to look at each other and moo. She added, "And the first person that laugh loses." Katy notably had a moo fight after she had a disagreement with Luke Bryan.
Katy was impressed with contestant Anna Grace's voice and wanted to give her a chance to enhance her singing skills at the ABC show. Although Lionel Richie said 'no', she still needed Luke's vote to award the contestant a Golden Ticket. Katy invited Luke for the moo competition and the winner would decide Anna's fate in the competition.
Katy won the moo challenge and advanced the ABC show contestant to the Hollywood Week. However, the viewers were left with the 'moo off'. A social media user wrote, "This moo off though? Wasn't that on a tv show." Another person added, "Katie and Luke having a moo off is crazy."
Another critic noted, "Katy sit downl! Worst judge ever!!!" Another Reddit user penned, "moo off? Really? The show gets worse and worse." Another internet user said, "You’ve got to be kidding... a moo off really?? so what's next Katy?"

Katy Perry walks away from Judge's table
'American Idol' Season 22 judge Katy Perry showed off her stubbornness during the latest episode of the ABC show. After having a moo off to advance Anna Grace, Katy walked away from the judge's table to protest against other judges who gave the golden ticket to Alyssa Raghu.
Alyssa returned to the ABC show stage after she competed in 2018 and 2019 and made it as far as the top eight. This time she accompanied her best friend Julia Davo to the audition but also auditioned herself. Katy noted after the audition, "I think you could go in. Do I think you could win it? No, personally." Meanwhile, Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie thought Alyssa had the potential and age 'yeses' to the contestant. Katy was not happy with her co-judges' decision and walked away from the judges' table.
Luke Bryan meets his high school teacher
During week 4 of 'American Idol' Season 22 auditions, Luke Bryan, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie met their childhood mentors who shaped the ABC show judges' singing journey. Luke met his high school drama teacher, Robbie Davis. Luke's drama teacher joked, "Does he have any talent?" They shared a hug and enjoyed the moment.
Lionel met his first teacher, Dr Benjamin Ace Outkand, and he was proud to see the ABC show judge's achievements. Katy had a fun interaction with her opera teacher and she taught a few notes to Luke and Lionel as well.
