'American Idol' season 17 has fans convinced that they will witness some really good singing talent

Though most fans agreed that this season is really one among the talented seasons in a long time, some begged to differ and as they felt that season 16 was much better

American Idol' season 17 premiered earlier this month on ABC. A large number of eager contestants auditioned hoping to make it through the auditions and compete in this season. But sadly, not all could make it. During the auditions, only a total of 175 contestants were selected and sent to Hollywood for the next round.

On Sunday and Monday, we witnessed Hollywood week where the contestants who advanced from the auditions competed for a place in the next round. Through the Hollywood week episodes, we witnessed amazing talent from contestants; there were quite a number of contestants who also performed their original songs and others who covered songs in their own unique style. These contestants left the judges shocked, which made it harder for them when it came to sending someone home. By the end of Hollywood week, there were only 40 contestants who advanced to the next round, where they will have to perform once again for the judges in Hawaii.
