LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: 'American Idol' Season 21 hopefuls returned to Hollywood after delivering stellar performances in Hawaii. While the 20 best contestants among the Top 26 advanced to the next round, six aspiring singers with fewer votes head back to their homes.

Emma Busse performed live in front of the audience and judges Katy Perry, Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan. She got eliminated as she received fewer votes compared to her fellow contestants. Meanwhile, her fans think she deserved a spot in the Top 20.

Emma Busse serenaded viewers on Disney night

Emma delivered a stirring performance on Sam Smith hit song 'Lay Me Down.' She performed during the first night in Hawaii and was mentored by 'American Idol' alum Allen Stone. Allen advised Emma that 'less is more' and asked her to 'tone it down.' Emma took his advice and brilliantly opened up the song with gentle notes before hitting up the electrifying notes. Katy complimented Emma's performance and said, "You sing all those hidden colours, the notes we don't know exist, you are a pro." Luke said, "Those notes we don’t even know exist, you bring them out." Meanwhile, Lionel was stunned and can't believe Emma pulled that off with 'human vocal cords.'

How Emma Busse was robbed?

Soon after Emma's performance, a few viewers noted that she was off during her performance in Hawaii. However, her fans opined and questioned her eliminations. A social media user wrote, "Emma Busse deserved to make it to top 20 but when has America had a taste for music since country became the next hot thing." Another fan tweeted, "Emma and Elise got absolutely robbed. Idol is embarrassing this year despite the fact that they keep trying to push the “best season yet” narrative."

Another viewer asked, "Are you KIDDING ME, Hannah made the top 20? Period. But the fact Emma and even Elise went home? Is this a joke? She's horrible. Why does she act like playing volleyball is a sob story? You're a tall skinny blonde athlete, boo hoo?" "Emma Busse being eliminated is a TRAVESTY," noted another person. Another follower added, "America sent the best female vocalist home already and that's why this show is a joke most seasons. Emma Busse should have been battling it out with Iam for the title." Another Twitter user shared, "Emma deserved top 20 I'm shocked."
