Johnny Depp accused Amber Heard of faking injuries, says video shows her acting out 'made up' abuse with sister
Johnny Depp had accused Amber Heard and her sister of staging a domestic abuse scene before his ex-wife appeared in court with what appeared to be a bruised face, in May 2016, and filed for a restraining order against her then estranged husband.
In his 22-page-long declaration that Depp submitted to the circuit court of Fairfax County, Virginia, in connection to the $50M defamation lawsuit that he filed against his former wife last year, the 'Pirates of the Caribbean' actor said that the 'Aquaman' actress' claims that she had sustained bruises as a result of him throwing a cell phone at her that hit her face on May 21, 2016, was made up.
To prove his point, he submitted some surveillance footage from his penthouse. One of them reportedly showed Heard and her sister Whitney making a mockery of the alleged attack just a day after the actress filed for divorce.
"In one surveillance video, according to sworn testimony from Eastern Columbia Building personnel, Ms. Heard, her sister Whitney Heard, and her co-conspirator Raquel Pennington were captured returning to the building, on two separate cameras the night of May 24, 2016. In the first surveillance video, they are laughing, and when Whitney Heard throws a fake punch at Ms. Heard’s face, they laugh even harder. They are seen on a different camera continuing to act out the abuse hoax as they enter the elevator," the declaration stated.
It further added that in the footage, Heard's face did not have any bruises or black marks on them.
"Heard publicly unveiled her hoax and apparently battered face for the first time on May 27, 2016, as she appeared in court to obtain a temporary restraining order," the court papers said, adding that "she was visibly uninjured prior to May 27 as confirmed by the surveillance video footage and the testimony of the multitude of sworn witnesses who testified that they interacted with Ms. Heard throughout the week of May 22, 2016."
Details of Depp and Heard's twisted, short marriage, surfaced after a series of leaked audiotapes seemed to indicate that it was the latter and not Depp who was the perpetrator of domestic violence in their relationship.
