Amber Heard is facing backlash on social media after she posted a series of pictures on Instagram wearing "inappropriate clothing" while visiting a Turkish mosque in Istanbul. The 34-year-old actress was seen going braless while touring the mosques in the Turkish capital. She was also seen wearing the hijab in a way that put her neck and hair on full display, defeating the whole purpose of the headcover. She wore the red Hijab above a loose-fitting blouse.

While she posted a series of pictures on Instagram initially, she removed them, leaving one behind and has deactivated the comments on the post, following the criticisms she received from social media. In the one remaining photo still up, she is seen posting in front of a cemetery in the same attire. "Spent the day wandering around the magic of Istanbul’s mosques and couldn’t be more in love with this gorgeous city..." she captioned the photo.

Twitter was filled with reactions against her post. "Amber Heard has no respect for religion or race as we’ve seen many times. Posted while touring a Mosque. Using a Hijab as a fashion accessory. Hair & neck showing and braless. She posted this before and took it down immediately but has now reposted," one wrote, while another said, "Amber heard is such a fake. She’s trying too hard." A third wrote, "Amber Heard really did enter a Mosque in Istanbul with her ni***es on show didn’t she? The disrespect!"

A fourth said: "Amber Heard was not only wandering outside the mosque in such an inappropriate and disrespectful attire but she entered the inside of the holy mosque as well with Allah and Prophet’s (pbuh) name on the wall. As a Muslim I am disgusted and hurt by this vile behavior."

A fifth user pointed out the fact that the 'Aquaman' actress was an atheist by posting a side-by-side photo comparison. "Amber Heard: 'I am an atheist. I don’t believe in God. Here I’m wearing Atheist AF T-shirt to stress it' Amber Heard when she’s lost her 'activism' machine: 'Oh, look, I am in a cemetery. I want you to think that I am religious!' It’s a huge insult for all Muslims. It hurts," the user captioned the photos.

After an outlet published an article highlighting the backlash that she was facing for not dressing appropriately, Heard took to her own Twitter account and defended herself for her choice of clothing. "Nope. Apparently whoever paid 4 this to b 'written' wasnt paid enough," Heard wrote, also including a link to the article she was referring to. "Ill make it easy(ier): Mosques are real places. So are museums & churches. So are head scarfs (where they are sometimes required n order 2 visit). Mystery solved."

Needless to say, even her defense was met with harsh words against the actress. "Amber Heard was arrested for beating a woman, admitted to/was witnessed beating a man. She's made multiple racist remarks & now this! In each situation manages to deflect, misquote or outright blame others for her actions. Zero accountability! Stop rewarding this behavior!" one user wrote.

Heard went on an Istanbul tour after an appearance at London’s Royal Courts of Justice in July, where she testified against her former husband Johnny Depp in a libel case filed by him against the British newspaper, the Sun.
