Amber Heard has hired an elite security firm to protect her at the Virginia courthouse where she is fighting her ex-husband Johnny Depp. Heard has been receiving constant threats and "lone-wolf" attacks from obsessed Depp fans that have gone too far, and turned all the way to disturbing death threats. The ongoing trial has been widely publicized in media and it seems that the court of social media is favoring Depp.

According to the reports by New York Post, several guards have been posted outside the premises and they have been following Heard everywhere she goes. It is still unclear how many bodyguards are protecting her but The Post confirmed she is paying $120 per hour for each bodyguard. The security firm, staffed by former military and government officials, is monitoring “lone-wolf supporters trying to gain access to the Fairfax County Circuit Courthouse grounds, vehicles, or entrance to the facility,” according to a Sunday memo obtained by The Post.

The Fairfax County Sheriff’s Office has been handling security and has so far kicked out two Depp supporters for online threats against Heard, as well as one of her supporters for breaking courtroom rules. Two Depp fans were barred from the proceedings and the court has begun requiring identification for those entering the gallery.

This bitter battle between Depp and Heard is one of the largest celebrity feuds. The former couple has been embroiled in the battle for four years and matters have only escalated. Depp is fighting a defamation case against Amber Heard for writing an op-ed on how she had been a victim of domestic violence. Heard did not name Depp in the article. The actress filed a counter lawsuit against the 'Pirates of the Caribbean' star for $100 million.

Posters showcasing widespread support for Depp, with hashtags like "JusticeForJohnnyDepp" have been trending on Twitter. A fan of Depp tweeted, "And what did you say when she said 'tell them I, Johnny Depp, am a victim of domestic violence'?" "I said yes, l am" "Nothing further your honour" You did it, Johnny. You told your truth #JusticeForJohnnyDepp."

Another person commented "I'm so proud of johnny depp for being strong, patient, fearless and fighting for the truth, his strength & courage is admirable, i love & respect this man so much, he deserves the entire world, sending positive vibes to him after 2 exhausting weeks. #Justiceforjohnnydepp."

Moira Penza, a former federal prosecutor in the Eastern District of New York, said that online threats should not be taken lightly. “When people are fueled over social media, dangerous real-life events can happen,” Penza told The Post. “Fueled by social media, Twitter comes to life and that is something we all reckon with,” Penza said, adding, “What is happening on the internet and attacks on various individuals, especially women is menacing."
