Where is Amber Frey now? Scott Peterson's mistress tipped off cops after he killed pregnant wife Laci
SACRAMENTO, CALIFORNIA: It has been nearly 18 years since Scott Peterson was convicted of murdering his pregnant wife, Laci Peterson, and their unborn baby, Conner. Authorities later revealed that his motives for the gruesome act likely lay in his desire to have a future with his lover, Amber Frey. In 2004, Scott was found guilty of murdering his wife and killing their unborn son and was sentenced to death.
In December 2021, he was again sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole due to jury misconduct. The California Supreme Court had previously ruled that when the jury found Scott guilty, they may have been influenced by their views on the death penalty. He is currently incarcerated at Mule Creek State Prison east of Sacramento. However, a California judge will decide Scott's fate on Thursday, December 22, whether to grant him a new trial or a life sentence, according to Fox News.

Where is Amber Frey now?
Father-to-be Scott began an affair with massage therapist Amber Frey in November when his wife Laci was seven months pregnant. Amber and Scott were set up on a blind date by a mutual friend Scott had just met at a conference. Their relationship reportedly lasted six weeks. During a Christmas party in December, Scott reportedly told his former lover Amber that his then-living wife had died. However, tragedy struck on Christmas Eve 2002 when the pregnant Laci mysteriously disappeared. It was not until four months later that Laci's body and that of her unborn son Conner were discovered in San Francisco Bay.
When Scott emerged as the prime suspect in Laci's disappearance, Amber immediately contacted the police and informed the public of her situation. She reportedly helped officers arrest Scott after he confessed the crime to her. Amber recorded his call and located the crime scene in that recording. The 46-year-old Amber, who came into the spotlight for dating Scott, now lives with her new husband, prison guard Robert Hernandez, in a small town in central California, Vizaca reports.
She has two children, Ayiana Frey with Hernandez and Justin Dean Markovich from her previous marriage. Amber even wrote a book titled 'Witness: For the Prosecution of Scott Peterson,' a record of her involvement in the case, less than three weeks after Scott was found guilty. After the California day spa she once ran, Euphoria Day Spa, filed for bankruptcy in 2015. She continues to work as a massage therapist now. Her social media account bio says she loves to travel and is finally living a guilt-free life.
