Amber alert issued for missing 3-year-old New Mexico boy after mom is found murdered, father remains at large
NEW MEXICO: The authorities in New Mexico are on the lookout for a three-year-old boy who went missing after family members found his mother dead.
An Amber Alert was issued on Thursday, January 8, in order to find Osiel Ernesto Rico, 3, who is believed to be with his father Jorge Rico-Ruvira. Family members and relatives discovered the body of Isela Mauricio-Sanchez, 27, inside her home which is located on the 600 block of East Forest Street. They then called the authorities.
The officials revealed that her death was classified as a homicide. The officers have not yet ruled out Rico-Ruvira as a suspect but the Osiel is "believed to be in DANGER if not located" the Roswell police department's social media post read. Osiel is reportedly 2 feet, 6 inches tall and weighs around 40 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes.
The child was last seen on Sunday and it is unknown what he was wearing, the police shared. Rico-Ruvira is around five-foot-eight-inch-tall and weighs approximately 150 pounds. He has brown eyes and black hair and is believed to driving a maroon-colored GMC Yukon SUV of an unknown year with an unknown license plate number.
The FBI is working closely with the local police department to find the missing child and his father. Many details are not known and an investigation is underway.
