BIRMINGHAM, ALABAMA: A suspect has been detained after an Amber Alert was issued in connection to the disappearance of a three-year-old in Alabama.

Kamille 'Cupcake' McKinney was last seen at her birthday party at her house in Tom Brown Village housing community at around 8:30 pm on Saturday, October 12, according to the Amber Alert, and is believed to be in extreme danger.

Witnesses at the scene told police that a woman or a man traveling in a dark-colored SUV or blue SUV, possibly an older model Toyota 4 Runner with rims and a tan protruding bumper, were seen leaving the party with the young girl.

Birmingham Police subsequently released images of the man and the vehicle and asked for the public's help in tracking him down, revealing that the culprits had possibly used candy to lure Kamille away.

A man and his girlfriend, a black female, were detained for questioning on Sunday night after a person spotted the vehicle in question, a Toyota Sequoia, outside the Woodside Condominiums on Shadowood Circle off Roebuck Parkway across from the Cathedral of the Cross and alerted authorities. However, the little girl was nowhere to be found.

The toddler's father, Dominic McKinney, told AL.com that he was partly relieved that the suspect had been caught, but that his daughter was still missing.

"I feel a little better that they got him but the search goes on because Cupcake still isn’t home," he said. "We’re still not stopping. I feel better that they caught him, I do, but until I see that baby, they can catch him all day. We will find her tonight."

"We’re going to pray and we’re going to hope for the best," he continued. "We’re going to find her if that’s the last thing I done on this earth."

The Birmingham Police are being assisted by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office, the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, the Jefferson County Emergency Management Agency and the National Center for Exploited and Missing Children, with the FBI also pooling in its resources.

Kamille is 3-feet-tall, weighs 60 pounds, and has brown eyes and black hair. She was last seen wearing a pink t-shirt with Minnie Mouse leopard print design, leopard print shorts, and yellow, white, and blue hair bows.

Anyone with information on Kamille's disappearance is advised to call the Birmingham Police at 205-254-1757.
