Amber alert issued for 15-month-old Tennessee girl nearly two months after she went missing
SULLIVAN COUNTY, TENNESSEE: An amber alert has been issued by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation almost two months after a 15-month-old girl went missing.
Evelyn Mae Boswell has been missing since late December, investigators said. However, a spokesperson for the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office said she was only reported missing on Tuesday, February 18, WJHL reports.
Authorities have released a description of the girl. She is 2-feet tall, weighs 28 pounds and has blonde hair and blue eyes. She was last seen wearing a pink tracksuit, pink shoes, and a pink bow.
MORE: Evelyn Boswell was reportedly last seen on December 26, 2019. She was not reported as a missing child until February 18, 2019.

Meanwhile, investigators are trying to figure out why it took so long for little Evelyn to be reported missing.
“Right now, we’re not sure of her exact location,” Capt. Andy Seabolt, Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office, said. “It could be anywhere from what we know.”
“We’ve been conducting the investigation, and obviously we’ve been talking to as many people as we have come in contact with that knew about the child. We have several others that we will be speaking with as well, and we’ve also been receiving some leads we’ve been following up on,” Seabolt said.
It was previously reported that authorities were asking for the public's help in searching for Boswell after she hadn't been seen by “certain family members” in the past two months. They last saw her near the end of November 2019 and the first of December 2019, according to a release from SCSO officials.
SCSO authorities said the child's parents were also involved in the ongoing investigation.
“The child’s mother, Megan 'Maggie' Boswell, has been involved in the investigation along with the father, Ethan Perry, who is active duty in the military, stationed in Louisiana," they said in a release.
The delay in issuing the amber alert was also outlined in the release.
“Criteria for issuing an Amber Alert are established by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and this case does not meet the criteria for an Amber Alert to be issued," SCSO officials had previously said.
Both the TBI and FBI are assisting Sullivan County authorities in this case.
