Amazon has been sued for 'The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel' as the plotline for the show seems to resemble a lot of a book that was published nearly six years ago. Jodi Parmley, author of "F.I.F.I. Financial Infidelity F**k It: The Mistress of the New Millennium" has come forward claiming that a lot of the storyline and many instances shown in the show resemble what she had written in her book.

Parmley reveals that after she wrote the book, she adapted it into a screenplay. In the documents received by TMZ, Parmley claims that she had visited many studios and met different executives with the hopes of getting her screenplay on the big screen. She hinted that many were interested but eventually, it did not yield any results.

While Parmley has not mentioned Amazon in particular, the documents do state that when the show premiered, she was surprised to find the similarities between her book and the show. She believes that Amazon stole a lot of her work for the show. This included, "plight, stand-up routine, general plot points and character traits".

She further pointed out that Mrs Maisel's life plays out in the same fashion as the character of her book. This includes her goal to "seek financial independence, leaving her crappy hubby", among others. As a result, she is now suing Amazon and wants to take the profit that has been made from the show.

There is no doubt that Amazon made huge profits thanks to 'The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel'. When the show first premiered, it had a large fan following. With three Seasons done and a fourth one expected to come out soon, people have already invested a lot into the show over the years. People fell in love with the character of Mrs Maisel, a housewife in the 1950s who finds out her hidden talent of being a standup comedian.

While she decides to pursue her career in it, her life turns upside down in many ways. Right from saying goodbye to her husband forever to trying to be the independent woman she wanted to be, the changes in her life see her evolve as a person. There is no doubt that Season 4 of the show will also have fans glued to their screens but looking at the latest lawsuit, we wonder if any changes will be made.
