650-lb woman finally able to start cancer treatment after losing weight: 'Now it's surgery or death'

Amanda Johnson has now undergone a vertical sleeve gastrectomy, so the reality star is all ready and geared up to shift her focus from losing weight to treating her cancer.
UPDATED JAN 31, 2019

37-year-old Amanda Johnson waged a daily battle with herself as she struggled with 650lbs of weight. It has been three years now and while her morbid obesity made life difficult she was also saddled with the unfortunate diagnosis of having endometrial cancer in 2016.

Now, the reality TV star who features on TLC's show 'Family By The Ton', had to postpone her cancer treatments due to her excess weight. According to People, Johnson, at 650 lbs., was too heavy to safely undergo radiation or have a hysterectomy.
