Amalie G: Grandmother, 100, who survived Nazi genocide beheaded with ax by 'unstable' grandson Artur B
HAMBURG, GERMANY: Police have discovered the body of a 100-year-old grandmother in Hamburg, Germany after she was brutally murdered by her own grandson. According to reports, Artur B killed his grandmother with an ax and then called the police to confess to the crime. Amalie G, a retired farm worker, was found dead in her Hamburg flat after being attacked by her grandson, according to investigators. Surprisingly, the centenarian who faced such a horrific death survived World War II and famine and also fled from the Nazis to Estonia.
The motive behind this heinous act still remains a mystery, but one of the relatives, considered him "a black sheep" of the family, as reported by Bild. The relative also mentioned that even though he worked as a "chemical worker", Artur was mostly unemployed and was financially unstable.

'Sharp and blunt force'
The cops said that Artur, who is currently being held in jail, reportedly called to report that he had beheaded his grandma. According to the preliminary postmortem results, it may be presumed that a "cervical chord severing caused by sharp and blunt force" was the cause of death, Chief Public Prosecutor Liddy Oechtering told BILD. The cops also added that they recovered the ax from the location.
During the autopsy, coroners observed that one of the blows was delivered from behind the cervical cord. Apparently, on Tuesday afternoon, a court issued an arrest warrant for Artur B for manslaughter. Even though Artur initially confessed to the murder and called the police, he has not revealed any information in front of the magistrate.
Loud arguments were often heard by neighbors
"We actually had good contact before her death. Amalie told me that her grandson had already broken into the apartment through the balcony and wanted to steal her money," a neighbor told the German newspaper. The arguments between the grandmother and grandson were loud enough to be noticed by the neighbors. According to a report, Artur was aware of the fortune his grandmother has saved.
"The grandson regularly came to his grandmother's apartment and looked after her. But there were arguments anyway", said the unnamed relative. The relative also added that a dispute over money may have escalated the situation on the night of the killing. Artur, however, as per public prosecutors had no criminal history and was only known for small crimes and none of those were considered acts of violence.
