AMAs 2020: Katy Perry debuts single at show after 7 years, Internet calls it 'best performance' of the night

America is all set to honor the best in music. The country's top music award is here and is taking place in the Microsoft Theatre, Los Angeles, on Sunday, November 22, on ABC Network beginning at 8 pm ET. Katy Perry gave a stellar performance for all her fans out there, as she debuted her track, 'Only Love' during her performance with Darius Rucker, in order to spread a message of love and unity. This was her first AMA performance after a hiatus of seven years. 

"Eighty-six thousand, four hundred seconds in a day. I swear lately most of 'em have been a waste. I feel 'em come and go, bury my mistakes. But time just goes on and on in a way," Perry sung as she donned a Canadian Tuxedo, stealing millions of hearts out there.

Some of the other top artistes performing tonight include Billie Eilish, Shawn Mendes, Justin Bieber, Jennifer Lopez, Maluma, the Weeknd, Kenny G, Dua Lipa, Dan + Shay, Megan Thee Stallion, Bad Bunny with Jhay Cortez, Lil Baby, BTS and many more. Viewers can watch the show on the ABC app or their website with a TV provider login. AT&T TV Now, Hulu With Live TV, YouTube TV and other live television streaming services can also provide access to ABC. 

The show was hosted by 'Hidden Figures' star, Taraji P Henson, “The AMAs bring together the music community to celebrate what really drives all artistes – the fans. I’m proud to take the stage as this year’s host — and also a fan — for what promises to be an electrifying night of music," she said in a press release.

Before her performance, Perry tweeted, "tonight’s @amas performance is for my father."

Calling it the best performance, one wrote, "Katy Perry had the best performance on the #AMAs," while another user complimented her and said, "Katy Perry served vocals and a deep meaningful message with her performance tonight agree or argue with the wall #AMAs." Applauding her confidence, a user said, "the way Katy Perry is always preaching about love and kindness even after the hate train and all the cyber b*llying she got over the years...
