At the 48th American Music Awards 2020, K-pop sensation BTS is world premiering with their first-ever stage performance of 'Life Goes On', the title track of their newest album, 'BE', at Jamsil Arena in Seoul, South Korea. This marked their first performance of the song that released last Friday, November 20. Since it premiered, fans have been constantly talking about the beautiful balance the song strikes between depicting the loss of normality in 2020 where all of us have been stripped of our daily routine to take on a different journey, homebound and deprived of the usual pleasures of the outside life that our daily routine offered.

The song starts with Jungkook and Jimin’s beautiful harmony where they say, "One day, the world stopped/Without any warning/Spring didn't know to wait/Showed up not even a minute late/Streets erased of footprints/I lie here, fallen to the ground/Time goes by on its own/Without a single apology." V echoes the question in all of the listeners’ mind, “There’s no end in sight / Is there a way out? / My feet refuse to move,” which Jin answers “Close your eyes for a moment/Hold my hand (Hold it)/To the future, let's run away” followed by everyone singing in chorus/Like an echo in the forest/The day will come back around/As if nothing happened/Yeah, life goes on/Like an arrow in the blue sky/Another day flying by/On my pillow, on my table/Yeah, life goes on/Like this again”
