The review contains spoilers from 'All American' Season 2 Episode 1 — 'Hustle & Motivate'.

The second season of 'All American' premiered on October 7 on The CW and Spencer James (Daniel Ezra)  finds himself at a crossroads as he had to choose between staying in Beverly Hills and playing with Coach Billy Baker (Taye Diggs) or joining his father Corey James (Chad L. Coleman) at South Crenshaw High, where he has been selected as the new coach.

It is an incredibly difficult choice for Spencer as he has something to lose on each side. After winning the state championship at Beverly Hills, he is the star footballer and already has a crazy fan following. Moreover, he has his girlfriend Layla (Greta Onieogou), his friends and better facilities too. If he chooses to go back to Crenshaw High, he will have to forget everything and start from scratch. But, if he chooses Beverly Hills, he won't be able to help his dad and his best friend Coop (Bre-Z).

His second family, Laura (Monét Mazur), Jordan (Michael Evans Behling) and Olivia (Samantha Logan) also miss him as much as his real family, Grace James (Karimah Westbrook) and Dillon (Jalyn Hall). But, his mother has always been understanding and knows that being in Beverly Hills opens a new world of opportunities for him. In the scene when she gets to know his dad has asked him to come and join his team in Crenshaw, she is almost about to discuss it but gets an important phone call and has to rush.

Moreover, with Coach Baker thinking of quitting the team, things are way too complicated. By the end of the first episode titled 'Hustle & Motivate', Spencer does come back to the Baker House and Olivia jumps with joy and gives him a big hug. Everybody is celebrating but Spencer knows he has to pick one side.

The decision is still pending until the last scene when Spencer texts his dad: "Need more time with my decision. Hope you understand." Fans clearly want Spencer to be with the Bakers. One user posted, "Spencer has a big decision to make and Billy is looking to make serious changes when All American finally returns tonight for Season 2!" and another one wrote, "Let me be the first to say to hell with Spencer's dad after this ending."

One fan even went on to tweet: "So before we get into this new All American, do y’all think Spencer’s dad is trying to use him? Cause I do #AllAmerican." As the new episode rolls out on Monday, October 14, on The CW, there is much at stake for Spencer, however, there's hope he might choose to stay in Beverly Hills.
