'All American' Season 2 Episode 4: Fans call out 'ungrateful' Layla for breaking up with Spencer after he barges into her room
The latest episode of 'All American' hit fans in the feels and how. Layla's strange behavior has been worrying Spencer for a while now and after he saw the cuts on her hand in the previous episode, his anxiety increased.
Not one to mince words, Spencer asks Layla directly about the cuts and she tells him to back off and that it is "just bangles". Hardly convinced, Spencer tells Coop to keep an eye on her and to spend time with Layla.
Of course, Layla figures it out after seeing a missed call for the 10th time from Spencer (really smooth, Spencer). Layla almost gets into a fight at school as well.
Spencer consults Olivia, who says that these are clear signs of depression. She also adds that Layla's room was not broken into, instead, she trashed it. The two barge into Layla's room, and see that it is in a state of complete disarray. Spencer decides to do the unthinkable and call Layla's father.
An irate Layla catches them in the act and breaks up with Spencer then and there. While Spencer did have his heart in the right place, maybe barging into your girlfriend's home isn't the best way to investigate her depression?
Meanwhile, some fans hope that Layla gets help soon. One fan wrote, "I feel so bad for Layla!! Home girl is really going through it." Another fan wrote, "Layla needs to seek help. She’s really doing through depression and I feel for her."
Another one called her annoying, "I fully understand Layla's situation but goddamn she's annoying this season #AllAmerican."
Hailing 'All American' for its realistic portrayal of depression, one fan wrote, "#Allamerican is out here doing one of the most realistic portrayals of depression I've seen on a teen show and all I see on twitter is 'layla is so annoying I hate her this season' jfc do better."
Another fan attacked Layla for breaking up with Spencer, "How do you break up with someone for caring?" while one fan called her ungrateful, "Wow Laila you really gone do spencer like that, girl you are ungrateful #AllAmerican."
