Spoiler alert for 'All American' Season 2 Episode 15 'Stakes Is High'

Packed with shocks and surprises, 'All American' never fails to throw a curveball. This time, Coach Billy Baker (Taye Diggs) stuns the Beverly Hills High American football team with news of his suspension. Ridden with guilt, Asher Adams (Cody Christian) tells him he wants to take the blame. But Billy asks him to "make the suspension worth it."

Asher is not the only one feeling accountable, Olivia Baker (Samantha Logan) also expresses her remorse over revealing Asher's steroid addiction to her dad. The feeling has repercussions. Olivia wants a break from Asher. Well, we would say, it's about time both of them got new partners. Clearly, the chemistry seems to have fizzled out. Meanwhile, head coach for UCLA football team, Coach Wilson (Scot Ruggles), asks Spencer James (Daniel Ezra) to prove himself.

Directed by David Crabtree and written by Mike Herro, David Strauss and J Stone Alston, the episode slowly untangles the messy knots of human errors.

Michael Evans Behling as Jordan Baker (The CW)

Jordan Baker (Michael Evans Behling) has feelings for Simone (Geffri Maya) and he can't stop reaching out to her. However, after Simone moved out of his house, she has been acting rather aloof. Jordan doesn't give up. He even goes on to pick a fight with her baby's real father. Sigh, Jordan seems to have fallen head over heels in love with Simone and he simply can't bear to stay away from her. Wonder where their relationship will head? Is Simone the right girl for Jordan? Only time will tell.

At Layla Keating's (Greta Onieogou) lavish party, Tamia Coop (Bre-Z) performs like a rockstar. With Layla's help, Coop receives an offer that she wasn’t expecting. Seems like music mogul JP Keating (Elvis Nolasco) finally realizes her potential and Layla motivates Coop like never before. She asks her to sign the deal and tells her she deserves every ounce of it. If she doesn't, it would be like "Spencer not playing football." What's more, when Patience (Chelsea Tavares) hears about it, she is over the moon.

Billy, meanwhile, goes to Asher's father, Harold Adams (Casper Van Dien) to make him realize the burden of pressure on his son's shoulders. Asher finally comes clean about his drug addiction in front of the entire team and apologizes. He gets suspended indefinitely but his father lends him the support he needs. That leaves Asher's football dream hanging by a noose and that can't be good news. Coach Billy has a new game plan. Spoiler alert: It involves winning! And yes, it works.

Towards the end, the heartwarming camaraderie between Darnell (Da'Vinchi) and Spencer tugs many heartstrings and so does Coop's lovely gesture for Layla! Everything seems to be working out, but how long will good times last? No one is paying attention to Olivia's PTSD and will Spencer sustain his shoulder injury? Moreover, Jordan's grand gesture shows he is in this for the long run. Is he, though?

The episode has too many staggering storylines that are left open-ended. Considering the next one will be the season two finale, there seems to be much at stake for each character on the show. But the spirit of the show lies in music and football — and that's what keeps it going. As the last episode from the season airs next week, it is yet to be seen if best buds Coop and Spencer will have a happy ending or a tragic one!
