'All American' Season 2 Episode 14: Coach Billy takes the fall for Asher's steroid addiction, but will it help?
Trust 'All American' to show teen troubles and it simply aces it. From racism to sexism and drug addiction, The CW series seems to be addressing serious issues in the second season.
In this week's episode titled 'Who Shot Ya', the spotlight may have been on Tyrone's (Demetrius Shipp Jr) killer and while Spencer James (Daniel Ezra) and Coop (Bre-Z) take the fall for Shawn's mother, coach Billy Baker (Taye Diggs) takes the fall for Asher Adams (Cody Christian) back at Beverly Hills High.
Billy first comes to know about Asher's steroid addiction when his daughter Olivia Baker (Samantha Logan) confides in him. When he confronts Asher, he promises him to stop using it. Later, however, a bottle of performance-enhancing drugs is found. When Billy is questioned, he takes the blame on his shoulders.
Many fans are appalled by the twist and believe that Billy's sacrifice will go in vain. "Billy really took the fall for Asher and got him suspended. We all know that Asher is not going to appreciate any of this. I'm so tired of this kids' nonsense!" one fan wrote and another said, "Those boys are lucky to have Billy Baker."
"Billy shouldn’t have taken the fall for Asher’s raggedy-ass cuz he damn sure doesn’t deserve Billy’s loyalty," another viewer posted. A lot many fans are pissed with Asher's attitude. "This was exactly my point. Asher doing drugs to help his performance when he’s dating someone who battled addiction themselves is so, so selfish," one viewer wrote.
As the next episode airs on Monday, March 2, 2020, on The CW, we may find out whether Asher really wants to change or is simply making false promises.
