'All American' Season 2 has gone on a whole new tangent with Asher Adams (Cody Christian) and his steroid addiction. It all started when a former Super Bowl MVP Matt Springer showed up at Beverly High to observe football practice.

Springer singled out Jordan Baker (Michael Evans Behling) and Asher to help them train. Asher now wants to prove himself as the squad's star wide receiver and has been pushing himself too hard. He almost sabotaged his relationship with Olivia Baker (Samantha Logan) while constantly picking fights with Spencer James (Daniel Ezra) after his comeback on the football field.

While Asher is using performance-enhancing drugs, Spencer is pushing his body too hard, too quick. None of this seems to be pointing toward a good ening as the showrunners have Spencer's goal intact but seem to be turning Asher's character into a merchant of doom. Karimah Westbrook, who plays Grace James in the show, tweeted after Episode 12 aired: "I feel sorry Asher. He just wants to succeed at his dream."

Fans are not too happy with the character drop after such a great development at the onset of the season. "Asher, every time I root for you, you always have to mess it up. Spencer was trying to help you..." one tweet read and another said, "I hope Asher & his steroids situation gets addressed soon. I didn't like that kind of attitude he shows towards Spencer in the preview after all that development between them. Asher had even told him that if he returned, the captain position was his. #AllAmerican."

"Someone help Asher dumb ass because he’s clearly at war with himself & that’s dangerous," one fan posted and another wrote, "And Spencer now knows that Asher is up to something and I hope he continues to call him out on it before something really bad happens to Asher." Calling him a "poor kid," one fan posted, "I love Asher so much but he is a walking disaster," and another said, "Asher is an ass and my dislike for him grows every episode."

What's more, Asher even tried to make Spencer try steroids and someone needs to draw a line. As the next episode airs on Monday, February 17, 2020, the showrunners should lead Asher to some light from the path of darkness and that's all fans are waiting for.
