Alien Huang aka Xiao Gui dead at 36: Taiwan actor and HC3 star found half-naked in blood-soaked flat by father

Police are believed to be investigating the incident, with preliminary findings indicating that he possibly fell and hit his head on the floor

Taiwanese superstar Alien Huang has died at the age of 36, reports state. The popular film star and pop singer, also known as Xiao Gui or 'Little Ghost,' was reportedly discovered by his father at his home in Taipei City on Wednesday morning, September 16, covered in blood and half-naked. His father reportedly alerted the authorities and fire crew was called to the star's house at around 11:30 am local time in the Beitou District. However, the personnel declared him dead. The star's manager confirmed the news of his death, however, the cause of his demise has not yet been revealed. Police are believed to be investigating the incident, with preliminary findings indicating that he possibly fell and hit his head on the floor.

Huang made his last social media appearance on Tuesday, September 15, where an Instagram Stories post showed him playing with a dog. The superstar was also seen on CCTV returning alone to his flat at 7:15 pm on Tuesday night, according to local media. He never left the house after that. Huang's father reportedly came to his house at around 11 am on Wednesday and found his son lying motionless on the floor. Huang, at the time of his death, was wearing a t-shirt but no underwear, according to Apple Daily Taiwan. The 36-year-old's body was reportedly lying in the corridor outside the bathroom.

Reports also state that the bathtub in the bathroom was filled with water and the air-conditioner in the house was switched on. There were reportedly no signs of forced entry in the house and no drugs or alcohol was found.

The multitalented star, along with being a singer and an actor, was also a television presenter, illustrator and fashion designer. Huang was previously a member of the famous Japanese boy band HC3 and Taiwanese boy band Cosmo. He also found success as a solo artist, released a string of albums and starred in multiple television dramas and films. A presenter of popular Taiwanese TV shows '100% Entertainment' with Show Lo, and 'Mr Player' with Jacky Wu, Huang had also set up his own fashion label called Alien Evolution Studio, and had published three books of illustrations.

Huang, who was also a former K-pop boy band member, began acting in the 2000s, and soon earned credits including the 2015 gang pic 'Gatao', he also wrote the music for it, and the 2016 comedy 'Go! Crazy Gangster'. Huang's most recent appearance was in a romantic comedy 'Acting Out Of Love', which released locally earlier this year.

Huang is the third Asian celebrity to have died at the age of 36 in three consecutive days. A day before the news of his death broke, Japanese actress Sei Ashina reportedly died by suicide on Monday, September 14. Another actress from Korea, Oh In-hye, was rushed to the hospital after she attempted suicide, however, she later succumbed in the hospital on Tuesday, September 15.
