VENICE, ITALY: A father who allegedly killed his wife in front of their child reportedly tried to die by suicide inside the prison using a broomstick. Alexandru Ianosi, 35, ended up in a coma just a few weeks after he was arrested for fatally stabbing his wife with a knife. Iansoi reportedly stabbed his wife Lilia Patranjel, 40, to death in the living room of their home in Italy while their son, 4, watched the entire ordeal.
Iansoi, who is of Romanian descent, tried to kill himself in his prison cell as he was "devastated by feelings of guilt" after committing the crime. "I did everything by myself to punish myself," the man said a few days after waking from the coma, according to the Daily Star. The incident took place on October 6 and he was transported to Dell' Angelo Hospital's reanimation ward, in Venice, where he is still said to be recovering.

His late partner Lilia was a professional caregiver and originally from Moldova. The duo moved to Italy in 2017. It is reported that Iansoi was violent toward Lilia and beat her on three different occasions. She asked for a divorce but eventually, she had to pay price for it on September 22 when the 35-year-old grabbed a kitchen knife and stabbed her several times in her chest and stomach. Lilia tragically died instantly.
Iansoi later confessed his crime to the police. His four-year child reportedly told the authorities, "Mother fell." He was charged with voluntary manslaughter and arrested. He reportedly had told the police, "Come and get me, I killed my partner." Lawyers claimed Ianosi's defense will allegedly depend on a psychiatric report and will show he wasn't himself on the day of the murder.
MEAWW previously reported that Marcus Edward Milligan, 39, fatally shot his wife Tara Devina Ricker Milligan, 37, on September 9. He also killed his three children, Teresa Milligan, 14, Nora Milligan, 11, and Finn Milligan, 8, before taking his own life. The Cecil County Sheriff's Office has identified the victims and confirmed that the victims were found dead in the home. The motive for the murder is still unclear. After receiving a call about the shooting around 9.20 am, authorities arrived at the scene 10 minutes later to find that all five family members had died from their gunshot wounds. Investigators also found a handgun next to Marcus' body in the garage.
The shooting occurred in an area of residential streets interspersed with wooded areas about 60 miles northeast of Baltimore and a few miles west of the Delaware state line. It was also reported that this incident occurred three years after the Milligans lost their youngest child, but it is unclear if these apparent murders were committed with the same motivation.
