Alex Jones lambasts ex-wife Kelly Nichols in leaked audio as she likens him to Steven Crowder
AUSTIN, TEXAS: Conspiracy theorist Alex Jones was heard lambasting his ex-wife, Kelly Nichols, in a six-minute rant that appeared to be secretly recorded by her on tape. The 2009 audio saw the 'InfoWars' host spew a series of insults at his then-wife, calling her "trashy" and telling her he is going to form another family without her.
The outburst included Jones, 49, warning Kelly, 54, to "stop kicking me around" despite her allegedly being sick with pneumonia. According to her, the audio was "similar" to right-wing political commentator Steven Crowder's unhinged rant against his wife Hilary when she was eight months pregnant. Crowder's tape, which was recorded in 2021, was reportedly leaked last month.

'Alt-right dog whistles'
"I've watched the horrible video of Steven Crowder gaslighting and threatening his wife, Hilary, while she was pregnant," Kelly told the Daily Mail, which obtained the audio footage of her ex-husband's outburst. Speaking of Crowder, she said she noted the "terrible spin where he uses authoritarian and alt-right dog whistles to describe his wife." Kelly continued, "You can watch Steven Crowder abusing his wife and threatening her, talking to her like she is his property, and gaslighting her – then his response is to project the abuse onto Hilary." She said Crowder "is using his massive, powerful, and dangerous platform to defame Hilary," and that he's "playing to the basest of his audience's misogynistic and bully proclivities."
Newly leaked security camera footage shows Steven Crowder treating his then eight-month pregnant wife like a slave, ordering her around and verbally abusing her.

Kelly compared Crowder to her ex-husband. "These are similar tactics to those used by Alex and his attorneys, who appeared on Infowars to defame me after I prevailed in a jury trial," she said. "The result was I was harassed and stalked for years, and still am, including at my home as recently as last month by a stranger who yelled about me about how 'great' Alex is." Kelly concluded, "They are two carrion bully birds of a feather, and they use their fake news like a weapon: to inspire hate, fear, and misogyny and keep ahold of the money they make misleading and endangering America."
Hilary and Crowder's marriage didn't last, just like Kelly and Jones, who divorced in March 2015 but didn't settle the custody trial of their three children until 2017. That said, Jones and Kelly are still fighting in court over his failure to pay his court-ordered $2,000 per month child support, despite ending their marriage nearly a decade ago.
Alex Jones' financial straits
The conspiracy theorist has argued that he has no money for child support after he was ordered to pay almost $1.5 billion to the parents of children killed in the 2012 Sandy Hook school shooting after he painted them as "crisis actors" and purported the massacre was fake. Jones filed for bankruptcy in 2022, saying his $10 billion in debts far outweighed his $10 million in assets. He was later accused of providing inaccurate and incomplete financial records as part of his Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing, according to Radar Online.
