The 1993 death of Brandon Lee on the set of ‘The Crow’

Brandon Lee, son of martial arts icon Bruce Lee, was shooting for ‘The Crow’ in 1993 when his life was cut short tragically. Brandon was just 28 at the time. The fatal accident reportedly happened when the rising star while filming for a scene walked into his house and found his on-screen fiancée getting beaten and raped before an actor playing the role of a thug fired a Smith & Wesson Model 629 .44 Magnum revolver at Brandon.

It has been said that the prop gun did not contain any powder cartridge, but it had the primer that the crew failed to remove. And, before filming that scene, one of the rounds was fired, which removed the bullet from the casing and sent it up into the gun barrel where it got lodged. But due to negligence at the set, the firearm was not checked thoroughly and the .44 bullet inside the gun was discharged and hit Brandon in the abdomen. Despite six hours of emergency surgery at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, North Carolina, he couldn’t be saved and was declared dead.

The 2018 death of Michael Davidson on the set of ‘Motherless Brooklyn’

‘Motherless Brooklyn’ was the first film of Edward Norton as a director, but a fire erupted on the set in March 2018 during the shooting. For help, the Fire Department of the City of New York (FDNY) was called to the scene but the department’s decorated 37-year-old fireman Michael Davidson was killed.
