'AGT' Season 17: Fans praise MetaPhysic Synthetic Media, say they've 'perfected the deep fake'
When it comes to 'AGT', no talent is off-limits. While it is easier to showcase skills like singing and dancing, if you can find a way to display little less than conventional talents, the stage is all yours for the taking!
Chris Ume and Thomas Graham of MetaPhysic Synthetic Media started their company a year ago. However, due to the pandemic, they only managed to meet in person 2 days ago. They explained that their talent was using AI to create hyper-real content. Looking for more reality competitions to check out? To do so, they invited none other than Daniel Emmet from Season 13 of 'AGT' to join them on stage. Daniel explained that the trio met because he was a fan of what MetaPhysic Synthetic Media had to offer and that they were fans of 'AGT'. So when they asked him to join them, he knew he had to be a part of their act. Keeping with the mystery of it all, Daniel began to perform while the judges waited in suspense. Soon, MetaPhysic Synthetic Media's 'talent' was revealed -- Daniel performed a song, but using AI, the video presented was a deep fake of Simon.
Simon joked that he had never fallen in love with a contestant before and stated that he was in love with Daniel. Heidi claimed that she had probably gotten more wrinkles, seeing that she was laughing the entire time. Sofia noted the amount of work and effort that must have gone into creating something like this, while Howie was amazed by their talent.
MetaPhysic Synthetic Media walked away with four yeses. Fans certainly thought the act was pretty cool. "That was insane... 😀🤩😝👏👍👍 The look on @SimonCowell face was priceless!!! Terrific act!!! 😘😎 #AGT @AGT" tweeted a fan. "That last audition was my favorite of the night. It really looked like @SimonCowell was singing. #AGT #AGTAuditions" added another. "#AGT I've never loved something yet been so horrified at the same time. Damn they have perfected the deep fake." said another. "This is one of favorite #AGT acts ever!! I'm not kidding!!! @howiemandel" tweeted a fan. "#agt I’m with Heidi. I laughed so hard I covered my mouth to tone it down and my cheeks hurt. Who will they do next?" wrote another.
