'AGT' Season 17 Live Show: Simon labels Avery Dixon a 'superstar', compares him to Carrie Underwood

PASADENA, CALIFORNIA: Avery Dixon bagged the first golden buzzer of 'America's Got Talent' Season 17 and it looks like he is determined to show the world that his talent is truly something else. With the live shows now taking place, Dixon was more than ready to show everyone his deep passion for his music.

However, this was not always the case for Dixon, who spoke about how he didn't feel as though he was worthy to be on the stage. But Terry Crews' granting him the golden buzzer changed his perspective, leading him to realize that the people who bullied him won't win. Now, he was all set to show the world his "soul song".

As soon as Dixon began to play, the audience and the judges were all blown away by his sheer talent. When it came to the judges' feedback, Simon mentioned how years ago, he told Carrie Underwood that she would go on to be a superstar and now, he promised Dixon that he too, was on the same trajectory. Sofia Vergara noted that the performance was perfect and nothing could have been done to make it any better than it already was. Heidi Klum urged audiences to vote for Dixon, while Howie Mandel declared that America loves him. 

Just like the judges, fans were in total awe of Dixon's talent. "@averydixononsax As far as I can see you are the winner of AGT! You are extremely talented. You brought the house down tonight. You should be extremely proud of yourself! Love you! Superstar!" said a fan.

"@terrycrews #AGT YOUR GOLDEN BUZZER WAS. You made the right choice and I can see him winning. Would love to see you do a duet with him. Please show this to him," added another.

"@averydixononsax @AGT @terrycrews You are awesome in so many ways. I LOVE the way you dress, you play well, you are a great performer and your personality is incredible," said another.

"Love that @averydixononsax closed out the show with some seriously good music! #AGT #AmericasGotTalent," tweeted another. "Yay Avery! He should be in the finals. I love his story and I hope this show will give him redemption #AGT," added a fan.

'America's Got Talent' airs on Tuesdays at 8 pm on NBC, followed by the results which will air on Wednesday nights between 8 pm to 9 pm ET/PT.
