'AGT' judge Howie Mandel reveals reason behind his wife's hotel room accident, and it wasn't alcohol
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Howie Mandel is addressing rumors about his wife's Terry Mandel's fall in Las Vegas, clarifying that she was not drunk but rather feeling the effects of marijuana gummies.
Recently, the 'America's Got Talent' judge discussed this incident in the media, including during an appearance on 'Live With Kelly and Mark', where he shared details of the incident.
After concerns were raised about his wife's alcohol consumption, Mandel took to the airwaves again to set the record straight, attributing the fall to the consumption of edibles rather than alcohol.
"We partied. It was too much. She was tipsy. I did not know that, and in the middle of the night she got up and, I don't know where she was headed, but she headed into the wall. She fell and hit the wainscoting," he said.
The comedian added, "She hit that as she went down. She slipped, went down, hit that on her eye, fell on the floor, and broke her cheek."
Mandel stated that his wife Terry had a severe injury with blood everywhere, which required her to be taken to the hospital. Concerns were raised by viewers about Mandel possibly having a drinking problem. However, Mandel quickly addressed these concerns on television, clarifying that the real cause of the incident was not alcohol but rather edibles.
"She was so worried that people were going to intervene with her alcohol — she doesn’t have an alcohol problem. I’m going to tell you the truth: she took gummies," Mandel told TMZ Live.
‘AGT’ judge Howie Mandel reveals he ‘freaked out’ after seeing his wife’s face following pool accident
Howie Mandel shared a distressing photo of his wife Terry, depicting a significant laceration on her forehead and a deep, discolored bruise encircling her eye. He confessed to feeling overwhelmed with fear and alarm as he observed the blood flowing from her injury.
“Blood is pooling out and I freaked out. I picked her up, I put her on the bed. There’s blood everywhere. I saw her head, and you could actually see her skull. It opened up. I freaked," he explained.
Mandel recounted how instead of immediately calling 911, he decided to contact hotel staff for help when Terry fell. However, instead of sending medical professionals, the hotel sent a team of 10 security guards to assess the situation.
The TV personality humorously remarked that the sight of all the blood in the room may have caused some concern for his own well-being. Ultimately, Terry was taken to the hospital and Mandel mentioned that she has fully recovered since the incident.
"She is absolutely perfect. There's not a scar. She's beautiful," he said.
