Policeman, 38, tells teenager's father he's taking her out for a movie and rapes her twice in the woods
The disgraced policeman, 38-year-old Adam Provan who raped a 16-year-old dance student by a tree has been sentenced to nine years of jail after he was found guilty. Provan said that he wanted to take the teenager out for a movie after he told her that he was just 22-years-old. Instead, he took the girl to a woodland in Romford where she was raped. Provan took the girl to McDonald's drive-through in Harold Hill and ordered two milkshakes where according to Sun, Anthony Metzer, QC, the prosecutor said, "he researched films the two could have watched to trick her father."
He was found guilty after a week-long trial and has now been jailed for nine years. According to DailyMail, Wood Green Crown Court heard that Provan and the teenager met through a friend of her's who he had contacted in 2010 by mistake. They had further exchanged messages and photos prior to their decision to go on a date in August 2010.
It was also revealed that Provan had told the girl that he was a police officer but lied to her about his age, stating that he was just 22-years-old. The teenager's father had been convinced to send his daughter on a date with Provan because he was a police officer. He then agreed to send her after he had met him first and after Provan lied to him as well about his age.
"After a 15-25 minutes drive, the prosecution says, the defendant pulled over in a car park by some woods," Metzer told Sun. "She will describe their walk through the woods, and their arrival at a tree trunk. Mr Provan asked for a kiss, progressively started kissing her neck, touching her breasts, before pulling a condom out of his pocket. He asked her if they should 'do it' meaning, 'have sex', she said, 'no', he kept asking and she stepped away," he added.
But even though she had denied, he still went ahead and raped her till he was satisfied. Revealing that there was no exchange during the act, Metzer continued and said that he took the teenager for another walk, while she was still in shock of what happened a while ago. Provan took her to a bench where she was asked if she wanted to perform oral sex. And though she refused he still insisted. "This put an end to the hellish date she had been taken on and Mr Provan finally drove her home," Metzer said.
Following the incident, after the girl had gone back home, her father revealed Provan's real age, he was 31-years-old during the time the incident took place. He was then arrested in 2016, where he denied all the allegations. Now after being jailed for nine years, Provan is also banned from policing.
