‘Stumptown’ Episode 12 Preview: Dex mixes business and pleasure as she gives in to her dirty desires

The last few episodes of ‘Stumptown’ showcased some major developments in Dex Parios’ (Cobie Smulders) character. As the series is most articulately peeling the layers of the PI’s persona, we are getting familiar with certain nuances of her rather alienated life. 

Until now we only knew Dex as a complete mess, who despite carrying profound intelligence and acquiring the skills, which even the best in her field of work lack, in a downward spiral owing to her issues from a devastating past.

However, in the last two episodes, we saw Dex take a stance for herself and dismiss Miles Hoffman's (Michael Ealy) interest in establishing a romantic relationship with her saying she wants to be on her own henceforth. 

But just when we thought Dex was all set to embark on a new beginning, Ansel Parios (Cole Sibus) expresses his desire to move out and lead an independent life. Episode 11 saw Dex struggle to come to terms with her new life, which isn’t as pleasant as she hoped it to be. 

In the preview of the upcoming episode titled ‘Dirty Dexy Money’, the PI is seen giving in to her dirty desires as she agrees to investigate male strippers who seem to be responsible for the mysterious loss of her client’s money. 

Dex’s old habits kick in putting her professional integrity to the test as she closely deals with hunky strippers, who are simply irresistible. However, what Dex is unaware of is the deep trouble she is getting herself entangled in by mixing profession with pleasure. 

Meanwhile, the preview also gives a glimpse of Grey McConnell (Jake Johnson) and Miles' continued association as they take up another car-jacking case. The duo has already had several clashes regarding their individual approaches to the investigation, which was further fueled by Grey’s growing proximity with the criminals. 

It remains to be seen in Episode 13 if Miles and Grey can work together putting their differences aside or if they end up dissolving the professional relationship owing to their individual interests.
